Is Austin Mr Sparks first name?
No, his first name was Theodore and Austin-Sparks was his hyphenated surname. His full name was Theodore William Austin-Sparks. He was sometimes called Mr Sparks for short, but he was not called "Austin" as that was not his first name. His friends called him either Theo or TAS.
This website is large, where do I start?
We realise a newcomer may find the amount of material on this site a little overwhelming! This is a great opportunity to listen to God to find out which titles He wants you to read. Some have found these articles to be a good place to start:
Spirituality: The Key To All That is of God
The Need of the Hour
The Battle Which is Not Yours
These books are well-known titles by TAS:
The School of Christ
God’s Reactions to Man’s Defections
The Great Transition from One Humanity to Another
Or if you prefer to read some short samples to begin with, we have put together a daily devotional called Daily Open Windows which has short extracts along with links to where each extract is from if you want to read more: Daily Open Windows
Can we still order your CDs or DVD-Roms of the website?
No sorry, these are no longer available. They served their purpose during a time when Internet access was expensive and unreliable. Due to how technology has moved on, we no longer provide disks of the entire website. You can, however, download the whole website yourself and save it on your own device.
Can we order books through you?
No, we are not Emmanuel Church who publish and post books worldwide. To order books from them please use the contact details we have provided with their latest book catalog: Emmanuel Church Book Catalog. We do make available some books through Amazon's Print on Demand service. These can be purchased directly from Amazon at their minimum list price.
Why can’t I find a title by TAS that is published elsewhere?
Usually the publication will be on this website, perhaps with a different title. Using the search engine may help you find what you’re looking for. Sometimes messages have been published with attribution to T. Austin-Sparks when they in fact were not by him. This website is dedicated solely to the work of Mr Austin-Sparks.
Several titles that we are often asked about and the reason the title is not on this website:
"This Ministry" (messages by various authors, all the messages in this book that are by TAS are on this website)
"Discipline Unto Prayer" (messages by various authors, all the messages in this book that are by TAS are on this website)
"The Way to God's End" (messages by various authors, all the messages in this book that are by TAS are on this website)
"Strong in the Day of Battle" (compilation of articles by TAS, all the articles are on this website)
"Living Water from Deep Wells of Revelation" (edited excerpts, the full unedited articles are on this website)
"Leadership and Ministry" (messages have been edited, the full unedited articles, including the book "Leadership", are on this website)
"Words of Wisdom and Revelation" (edited excerpts, the full unedited articles are on this website)
"The Reality of the Cross of Christ" (this book was reprinted and given this title by a publisher in 1987, the original title given by TAS was: "The Centrality and Universality of the Cross" and is on this website).
Why don’t you have a donations page on your website?
Because what we have freely received, we in turn make freely available to you! We don't want you to feel obligated to give anything, God always provides for what is His without us trying to make it happen. When folk do write to ask if they can give, we gratefully accept their contribution, but we do not expect or ask for donations or gifts. Please note: if you post a check (cheque) to us, we will not be able to bank it as banks in New Zealand no longer accept this form of payment.
Where is the website hosted?
The website is hosted in the USA due to most traffic coming from that country. The owners and maintainers of the website live in the country of New Zealand.
How many staff do you have?
None, there are just two of us, a husband and wife team. More information on the formation and history of the website can be read on the About page. Most of the translated sites are run by each translator, who felt led by God to do the translating work.
Can I copy and paste these messages and republish them myself?
The short answer is no, unless you are printing on your personal printer for your own personal reading or you just want to share them with a few friends, then that is fine. If you want to publish them, please read the Copyright Information page or email us.
In keeping with T. Austin-Sparks' wishes that what was freely received should be freely given and not sold for profit, and that his messages be reproduced word for word, we ask if you choose to share these messages with others, to please respect his wishes and offer them freely - free of any changes, free of any charge (except necessary distribution costs) and with this statement included.
