"The Cross has always been God's way of salvation - God's way of salvation, God's remedy. It's a very drastic remedy, a very terrible remedy, but it's God's remedy. And if it is an effective remedy, then it produces hope; it's something with hope as its issue, a new hope. The Cross is not a symbol; the Cross is not an object. The Cross is a mighty power."
